Our Principals
Zodiac Maritime Agencies (London)
Zodiac is an international ship management company specializing in the
management of Cape-size, Panamax-size and Handy-size Bulk Carriers, Reefer
vessels, Chemical Tankers, Gas Tankers, Container Ships and Car Carriers. The
origins of Zodiac go back to the late 1960's with the establishment
in London of a ship management agency service. In the mid 1970's
this agency service was taken over by the present Zodiac Maritime
Agencies Limited - a United Kingdom Registered Company. From the
beginning, the management's emphasis was to co-ordinate an effective
team of professionals all working in unison toward the single goal
of ensuring customer satisfaction. Over the years this philosophy
has prevailed and the company now has an unrivalled team of long
serving highly skilled managers and marine professionals. It is
the dedication of this loyal team and its experience in total ship
management that has been the key to the company's success from the
humble start dealing with just 3 ships to the position today of
over 70 ships and a staff in excess of 120.
CREWING
The company uses it's own representatives located in key areas of
the world to co-ordinate manning which is seen as an essential component
in delivering a quality service to it's customers. With minor exceptions,
crews are supplied from five main areas, Turkey, Eastern Europe,
Korea, and Philippines.
Such close control at the recruitment stage ensures only suitably
qualified personnel are supplied to the vessels. The company has
it's own cadet training programme, the yearly intake of cadets is
in excess of 100, the candidates coming mainly from Turkey, Bulgaria,
Romania, Latvia and Russia. In addition to training officers, Zodiac
has a significant share holding in a seaman's training school in
Turkey.
Many of the sea staff are long term employees some of which having
served on ships managed by Zodiac in excess of 25 years. Loyalty
and continuation of service is encouraged by the provision of a
pension scheme and other initiatives to ensure a contented and professional
workforce.
